OER founder and owner Tiana White has over 25 years of experience working in outdoor education. Tiana was the Outdoor Program Director at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah for over 10 years where she also co-developed the Outdoor Education and Leadership major, field semester, and instructed academic classroom and field-based courses. Tiana has also been the director of outdoor programs for other colleges and secondary schools, and has instructed for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). She has worked with the Wilderness Medicine Training Center since 2014 and is a WEMT-B. Her professional memberships include the Association for Outdoor Recreation and Education (AORE) and the Wilderness Medical Society (WMS). She earned her B.S. in Geology from Hamilton College and M.S. from the University of Utah in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism with an emphasis in experiential education.

Tiana enjoys paddling, mountain biking, climbing, skiing, and human-powered, self-supported, expedition-style adventures to remote and wild places. Her personal and professional adventures have taken her to the deserts, mountains, and rivers of the US from Alaska to Maine and abroad to the Yukon, Mexico, China, Nepal, India, Vietnam, Singapore, Costa Rica, Japan and Thailand.
